Homefront Server Browser is a simple game server browser for KAOS' Homefront.
Features:
- Randomly selects from configurable list the master game server
- Comprehensive list of filters for selecting the servers to be included
- Allows viewing of servers, players and settings
- Results are displayed in fully sortable tables
- Remembers filter values

Installation:
0. Uninstall any existing release.
1. Download latest version of Homefront Server Browser
2. Run setup program
Users' Guide:
Update is used to acquire a new list of servers.
Refresh is used to update the existing list of servers.
Reset is used to clear the filters.
Clipboard is used to copy the selected server name, address and port number to the clipboard.
Cancel is used to stop the current Update or Refresh request.
Tips and Tricks:
You can update a server's information by double clicking on the appropriate row.
As you move from server to server the server's information is updated.
Pressing Ctrl+C will copy the row into the clipboard.

TeamSpeak / Homefront: Server Information

I have done above, now how do I fire it up? (tis okay found it, need to add how to start it for us thickies)

ok i downloaded this serverbrowser because the ingame one is being a **** (not fetching any servers after the 2nd update)
Th eonly problem i get is that i dont seem to get the same servers as the ingame server browser for some weird reason. Did i do something wrong or...? =/
q: i cant download
a. noone should be having problems downloading the files, they are hosted by google docs and ive tested the links...
perhaps you have scripting disabled and maybe google needs scripting enabled. also ie 8 have problems with lots of sites im noticing even in capatibility mode, ive had better luck with firefox and even with opera...
q: how to start the browser
a. once you install it
click on start and type
Homefront Server Browser
it will find it and then all you do is click
also it should have installed a shortcut on the desktop and in Start -> All Programs -> Enabling Software
q. how do i join a game from the browser
a. you cant directly
the best way is to have both running
find it in the browser select the server then click on the clipboard botton
then switch to the game and join an ip address
paste the server information and remove out the name of the server and the port number (just make sure its the same as the default, else you will have to paste/type it into the port text box)
a little complicated, but after a couple of times very easy to do...
q. why it is the game browser and the browser i wrote give you different listings
a. well its not all that complicated, steam has a bunch of master servers, a list of them. the rule they have is that software developers like myself have to randomly select one from the list so that not everyone hits the same one...
and well you can guess they all have slightly different information
why well because the game only updates one of them directly and then the rest are synced up at a little bit after
also explains why you see one server that is not full and then by the time you pick it its full...
or a server with lots of players and when you join it its like empty
that is because the information is always a little stale
that is just how life is... we dont create the world, we try to live the best we can in it.
i hope this explains everyones questions
i am working on even more goodies, now i'm focusing on the needs of server administrators
so when the dedicated server files come out there will be nice way to remotely administer and configure the server, run the server as a windows service, automatically restart the server when it crashes, and more!!!
if anyone knows anyone at kaos/de please ask them to add command line way to join a game
something like
-connect ip:port
or
+connect ip:port
or even
/connect ip:port
why because then i can add launch game and join a server which would be really great to have...
